A Strategic Leadership Workshop Series for In-House Legal, Risk, and Compliance Professionals!

In partnership with the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (CCCA), LexisNexis Canada invites all legal, risk, and compliance professionals to a three-part, practical training series focused on building out the business case for a well resourced in-house legal department that is appropriately equipped to meet your entity’s compliance, governance and risk objectives in 2022-2023 and beyond.

In this three-part series, LexisNexis Canada joins members of the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (CCCA) to lead a practical training program focused on revisioning the legal department as a value centre rather than a cost centre. Sessions will focus on:

  • Developing key metrics for documenting and reporting legal department value;
  • Strategies to improve cost transparency, decision making and value in procurement of external counsel services and legal technology products; and
  • Best practices to build a legal department budget that will equip your team to lead confidently in Canada’s current turbulent risk landscape.

Session 3: Legal Budget Teardown

In this practical, hands-on session, our panel of in-house counsel will work through an actual budget worksheet to show you how it is done, allowing you an exclusive, insider view of the budget creation process. You can operationalize your learning from all three sessions by following along with your own worksheet and interacting with the panel.

  • Tools provided: original, exclusive briefing note; checklist; worksheet; model budget proposal; model legal department budget and year-end presentation; the ROI calculator
